KPN believes it is important to address climate change. Switching to renewable energy consumption is one way it can achieve this, although reducing energy consumption is the main priority.
KPN has already reached its RE100 goal to become 100% powered by renewable energy. This helped the company to reach its ambition to become "climate neutral" by 2015.
Since 2011, 100% of KPN's electricity consumption in the Netherlands and Belgium has originated from renewable sources - all the electricity used in the Netherlands is locally generated from wind or biomass. Since 2013, all electricity across of the whole KPN Group has come from renewable sources.
- 98% reduction of CO2 emissions in 2014 compared to 2005
- Across the KPN Group 100% electricity is supplied by renewable energy
- Reduced carbon footprint
- Contributing to lowering climate change vulnerability
