We have been busy across our global hubs this month. At London’s first Climate Action Week, RE100 members discussed collaboration between landlords and tenants to source clean energy. We’ve been in Taiwan, Japan and Korea where RE100 members are asking for raised ambition from policymakers, and we've welcomed 10 new members: Asset Management One, City of London Corporation, Derwent London, JD Sports, Keurig Dr Pepper, PNC, QTS Realty Trust, Slaughter and May, Swisscom and Zurich. We have also announced our first buyers bootcamp in Europe. And remember, the RE100 reporting window closes at the end of this month. Read on for more.
Business leadership across London
The Climate Group led key events at London Climate Action Week to showcase corporate leadership on renewable electricity. We brought together landlords and tenants to discuss how to overcome challenges faced in leased premises, and we saw the launch of the UK hub of the RE-Source platform (of which we are a founding member) – aiming to accelerate the use of renewables by companies in the UK. Japan - Call to Action
20 RE100 companies called on the Japanese government to set a target for 50% renewable electricity by 2030 as well as for a more favorable policy environment for corporate sourcing. Our local partnerJCLP organized the summit where this was called for, ahead of the G20 Summit, in the presence of the Minister for Environment. JCLP have since been recognized by the Japanese Government for its work driving forward RE100 in Japan.
